Federal judge allows the EFF's lawsuit against DOGE and Elon


A federal judge ruled on Thursday that a attempting to stop the Department of Efficiency from obtaining records on millions of Americans may proceed.

In conjunction with watchdog the Electronic Frontier Foundation and two unions, more than 100 current and former federal employees sued , the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (), and in February.

The government filed a motion to dismiss, but on Thursday the judge denied that motion.

The suit seeks to OPM from disclosing records to DOGE as well as of DOGE. It also wants any information already shared to be returned. This ruling doesn't mean the lawsuit itself will result in victory for the plaintiffs, but it does allow them to carry on.
